Controversial Nigerian singer and internet sensation Speed Darlington is not taking his recent defeat in the celebrity boxing ring lightly. After being knocked out in the second round by fellow entertainer Portable during the much-publicised ‘Chaos In The Ring’ match, held Saturday at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, Speedy is calling for a rematch—this time with better preparation.

The fight, which drew considerable attention for its spectacle and drama, was born out of rising tension between the two stars. The feud reportedly escalated after Speed Darlington offered Portable ₦500,000 to perform at an event—an offer Portable publicly deemed insulting, sparking an online back-and-forth that eventually landed in the boxing ring.

In a video released shortly after the match, Speed Darlington expressed deep frustration over the loss, claiming Portable didn’t deserve the prize money. He emotionally stated that his intention for winning was to use the earnings to build a swimming pool in his hometown in Imo State.

“Portable, I want a rematch. E dey pain me say you dey carry all that money dey go. E dey break my heart. I want a rematch. It’s so unfair,” he lamented. “You don’t deserve that money. I never enter ring before. I want to build swimming pool for my villagers. I need a rematch, Portable.”

Speed Darlington also argued that the match was stacked against him from the start, citing Portable’s prior boxing experience as a key disadvantage. He claimed he needed at least 30 days to train properly for a fair contest.

Adding to the controversy, Speedy made allegations that Portable may have used voodoo to secure the win—a claim he had hinted at even before the bout. He further mentioned that while he didn’t feel tired during the match, his shoulder became dislocated, impacting his performance.

Despite the defeat, Speed Darlington’s theatrical demand for a rematch has already sparked chatter online, with fans divided over whether another showdown should happen—or if this was all just another act in their ever-evolving celebrity feud.

As it stands, the ball is now in Portable’s court—will he accept the challenge, or let his victory speak for itself?
