The newly launched outlets are retailing petrol at N878 per litre—markedly lower than the prevailing rates in many parts of the country—signaling SGR’s strategic effort to offer competitive pricing along high-traffic routes.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, SGR’s General Manager, Samuel Oyekanmi, underscored the importance of serving underserved yet crucial transport corridors. “These new stations are an extension of our promise to be where Nigerians need us most. Shagamu-Ore is a vital route, and we’re making sure people have access to quality fuel, seamless service, and transparent pricing,” he said.
The event was also attended by branch managers Oladele Giwa and Musa Owolabi, who reaffirmed the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction, service reliability, and operational excellence.
SGR’s expansion is part of a broader growth plan to strengthen its position in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector by leveraging its preferential access to Dangote Refinery products and a well-developed logistics network. The company stated its objective is to ensure a steady supply of fuel at consumer-friendly rates across key locations with high vehicular movement and transport activity.
The Shagamu-Ore expressway, a major transport artery connecting southwestern Nigeria to other regions, continues to see increasing economic activity, and SGR’s presence is expected to ease the burden on road users navigating fuel scarcity and pricing disparities.
With more stations expected to be rolled out in the coming months, SGR aims to play a pivotal role in stabilising petrol supply and improving affordability for both private motorists and commercial transport operators across the country.
