Organizers of Cycling Lagos, Nigeria’s largest and most prestigious cycling event, have announced the commencement of online registration for the 4th edition, scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025. This year’s event carries the theme “Sustainable Energy” and is expected to attract thousands of cyclists from across the nation.

Speaking in Lagos, Bamidele Adeleye, Managing Director of BrandEscort Communications and the event’s convener, urged interested participants to secure their spots early by visiting the official website, www.cyclinglagos.com.

“As we gear up for the 4th edition of Cycling Lagos, we are committed to delivering a bigger, better, and more exciting experience,” Adeleye said. “Registration is free, but participants must come with a bicycle and a helmet. Event organizers will provide specially designed jerseys for all registered cyclists.”

He emphasized the need for early registration, warning that available slots are limited and expected to fill up quickly.

The 2025 edition of Cycling Lagos will feature five race categories: professionals, celebrities, corporate teams, amateurs, and children. Notably, the children’s race will be held alongside the main event at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, offering a family-friendly atmosphere that encourages the participation of all age groups.

Beyond promoting cycling as a sport, Cycling Lagos is designed to encourage Nigerians to adopt a lifestyle of health, wellness, and environmental consciousness through regular bicycle use in their communities. The event also serves as a vibrant showcase of Lagos as Africa’s leading hub for investment, tourism, and innovation.

The annual event enjoys strong backing from the Lagos State Sports Commission and the Lagos State Cycling Association, reinforcing the government’s commitment to developing sports and promoting sustainable transportation initiatives.

Registration for the 2025 edition will officially close on Monday, May 26, 2025.
