Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck (real name: Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu) has publicly demanded that Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, return the support he received from him during the elections.

The Abuja-born artist took to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, April 3, urging Obi to back his upcoming music project, "The Machine."

In his first post, Odumodublvck wrote:

"@PeterObi hello Mr Peter Obi. I support you that year. Oya support me now. Oya do video dey talk the machine is coming. Abeg. Me and you never ever get problem before. Make e no start now."

He followed up with a more frustrated message, emphasizing his past loyalty:

"The time wey I support Peter Obi na with sweat and blood. If he cannot give me a ‘common’ tweet then me and am go fight. I no dey hide my mouth. Make una dey talk una own. The machine is coming."

A Vocal Supporter During the 2023 Elections

Odumodublvck was one of the most vocal figures in Nigeria’s creative industry backing Obi’s presidential bid. In March 2023, he referenced Obi in his verse on NATIVE Sound System’s "Vex," expressing hope that the politician would "save" him.

His allegiance was further proven when he rejected an offer to perform at President Bola Tinubu’s inauguration in May 2023, stating, “They did not do their research.”

Mixed Reactions from Fans

While some fans sympathized with his request, others criticized him for pressuring a political figure into promoting his music.

@African_unifier: "I know you needed traffic for your new song, but don’t ever try to use Peter Obi to chase clout. I’m a top fan, but learn to respect."

@societyhatesjay: "Omo, you no get who dey advice you?"

@little_finger_c: "So your political alignment is transactional? Na madt you dey like this."

@de_general (jokingly): "We have street carnival in Lagos Island. Peter Obi should come o!"

@Onson_Atafi: "Your album will flop."

As of now, Peter Obi has not responded to Odumodublvck’s demand.

Will the rapper’s bold call-out pay off, or has it backfired? Fans are split—but one thing’s certain: "The Machine" is coming.
