The news of his release was shared on Wednesday by his younger brother, Paul Okoye—popularly known as Rudeboy—via his Instagram stories. In a series of clips showing Jude being welcomed home, Paul expressed relief and joy at his brother’s return.
“Jude is finally out after 2 months+… all their efforts to frustrate his bail have finally collapsed,” Paul wrote. “Welcome home brother. #judeengees. And happy birthday. Welcome back blood.”
Jude’s release comes amid a highly publicized family and legal feud involving his younger twin brothers, Paul and Peter Okoye (Mr P), the former members of P-Square. The legal battle has exposed deep divisions within the family, with Paul publicly blaming Peter for orchestrating Jude’s arrest and subsequent detention.
Tensions escalated further last week when Peter appeared in court to testify against Jude. In his testimony at the Federal High Court in Lagos, Peter alleged that Jude had illicitly registered a company under his wife's name and used it to divert royalties that were meant to be shared among members of the P-Square brand.
The case, which has captivated fans and stirred debate across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, has been adjourned to June 4 for cross-examination.
As the legal proceedings continue, the rift between the once-unified Okoye brothers deepens, casting a shadow over what was once one of Africa’s most celebrated musical acts.
