The airline is utilizing a 50-seater Embraer ERJ145 aircraft for this significant regional connection. Speaking from the inaugural flight to Lusaka, Zimbabwe's Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Joshua Sacco, highlighted the airline's growing regional presence. "In Zimbabwe, Fastjet operates flights to Harare, Bulawayo, and Victoria Falls," he noted. "Prior to today, the airline connected Zimbabwe to Johannesburg and Nelspruit Kruger Mpumalanga in South Africa, and now, we are delighted to see Lusaka, Zambia, added to this expanding network."

Witnessing the inaugural landing at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, Zambian Minister of Transport and Logistics, Frank Tayali, emphasized the long-standing relationship between the two countries. "The Fastjet flights into Lusaka from Harare today (Wednesday) will simply consolidate this relationship further," he stated. He further elaborated on the significance of this new air link, saying, "The introduction of flights from Harare into Lusaka by Fastjet is an important milestone in our aviation industry as it will enhance the already existing business linkages and create opportunities to promote tourism, trade, and foreign direct investments in Zambia."

Mr. Donahue Cortes, Fastjet Zimbabwe Business CEO and country head, underscored the broader economic impact of aviation. "Aviation is a catalyst for economic development. The Harare-Lusaka route will be no different," he asserted. "It will unlock new opportunities for investment, trade, and collaboration, as well as strengthening tourism and connectivity between the two countries given their cultural synergies."
