Veteran Nollywood actress and evangelist, Eucharia Anunobi, has voiced her concerns about the growing trend of poor communication in the era of social media and instant messaging. In a recent Instagram post, the outspoken actress decried what she sees as a widespread lack of intentionality and clarity in personal interactions online.

According to Anunobi, too many individuals squander meaningful opportunities simply because they fail to communicate effectively. She urged social media users to stop hiding behind vague messages and instead express their intentions clearly and respectfully.

“I don’t get it. Why would you enter someone’s DM and just say ‘hi’? For crying out loud, do you think everyone has time to waste?” she asked, highlighting the frustration that often comes with receiving incomplete or pointless messages.

The actress emphasized that in today’s fast-paced world, where attention spans are short and time is precious, ambiguity in conversation is not only irritating but counterproductive. She challenged users to rethink how they initiate conversations, especially when reaching out to someone they do not know personally.

“Why should I start playing ping pong with you? I say hello, you say how are you, I say fine… come on now! If you have something to say, say it! State your purpose, be direct. Shoot your shot with sense,” Anunobi said in a candid tone.

She further stressed that effective communication is not just about courtesy, but about maximizing potential opportunities that might come from networking, collaboration, or even personal connections.

“Don’t you know what it means to grab an opportunity? Obviously, common sense is not common,” she concluded.

Anunobi’s remarks serve as a timely reminder about the value of clarity and purpose in our daily interactions, especially in a digital world where miscommunication is just a message away.
