The dispute began after a video went viral showing Odunsi pleading for financial assistance from the public, citing severe health challenges. He revealed that he has been battling a stroke since 2022 and claimed that Asake has ignored his pleas for help despite his worsening condition.
In response, Asake addressed the situation indirectly through a heartfelt and cryptic message posted on TikTok. Singing in Yoruba, he expressed, “You can’t please everyone, you can’t please the world. But whatever you do, do it for God. My own father wants to manipulate me, even though I’ve sent him so much money. I’ve struggled for years, but they want to make life exhausting for me.”
As the drama continues to unfold, Asake’s family has now spoken out, not only addressing Odunsi’s claims but also accusing the singer of neglecting his alleged daughter, Zeenat, and her mother. They called on Asake to take responsibility for his father’s well-being and expressed their readiness to conduct a DNA test to confirm the paternity of 11-year-old Zeenat.
In the video, a woman directly appealed to the singer, saying, “I’m begging you, Ololade Mr. Money, to do what is right. Even if Nigerians donate ₦10 billion to this man, just ₦1 million from Asake would make him happier. Please take care of your father. If you don’t want to support him directly, buy him a house in Isale Eko where he can earn rent to sustain himself. In Isale Eko, you can find houses worth ₦40 million or ₦50 million that you can build for him to collect rent. And if you have doubts about Zeenat, her mother has agreed to a DNA test.”
The family’s statement adds another layer to the controversy, urging Asake to address the allegations and fulfill his responsibilities.
