British rapper Stormzy has received a nine-month driving ban after being caught using his mobile phone while driving his Rolls-Royce.

The ruling was made by the Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, following Stormzy's guilty plea submitted in writing.

The incident took place on March 7, 2024, in West Kensington, where an off-duty police officer observed the rapper committing the offense. District Judge Andrew Sweet, who oversaw the case, characterized Stormzy’s behavior as “dangerous and irresponsible,” emphasizing his poor driving history. Along with the driving ban, the court also imposed a fine of £2,010 ($2,498) and added six penalty points to his driving record.

This recent violation has brought Stormzy's total to 12 penalty points, exceeding the limit for disqualification under UK law. In the UK, drivers face a ban if they accumulate 12 or more points within a three-year timeframe.

The rapper had previously received six points on his license due to a speeding violation, which Judge Sweet referenced during the sentencing.
