Former president Olusegun Obasanjo welcomed Francis Ngannou, the MMA fighter, to his office in Abeokuta.

Ngannou shared on Instagram that he met with the ex-president on Sunday.

“It was an honour meeting the legendary former Nigerian president, H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday at his home office in Abeokuta. It was great receiving some words of wisdom from the legend,” the post reads.

Ngannou, who hails from Cameroon but also holds French nationality, just got back to Nigeria after celebrating the holidays in Central Africa.

Over the weekend, he was seen in Lagos hanging out with Burna Boy and Kamaru Usman, the former UFC welterweight champ.

His trip to Nigeria comes nearly three months after he scored a first-round knockout against Brazil’s Ricardo Ferreira in his debut with the Professional Fighters League (PFL).

Prior to that, Ngannou faced a second-round knockout loss to Anthony Joshua during their exhibition match in March 2024.
