Anthony Joshua has expressed his ambition to finally step into the ring with Tyson Fury in 2025 for their long-anticipated all-British heavyweight boxing match.

During a discussion with journalists on Wednesday following his meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, the 35-year-old Nigerian-British boxer reflected on his ongoing rivalry with Fury.

Despite having two previous fight dates that were ultimately canceled, Joshua remains determined to face his adversary. He also mentioned his desire to reclaim the world heavyweight boxing title for a third time in the upcoming year.

“2024, when I look back, I believe I could have done more. 2025, I want to do more and will ensure I use every opportunity,” he said.

“I should have won [against Dubois] but did not. Ups and downs do happen. My life is up and down. So, I get used to the turbulent times and keep riding the wave. I cannot stop there.

“My target for 2025 is Tyson Fury.”

Joshua and Fury currently hold no titles, having both lost their championships to Oleksandr Usyk over the past two years.

Usyk triumphed over Joshua in 2021 and 2022, securing the WBA, IBF, and WBO titles. Additionally, in 2024, the Ukrainian bested Fury on two occasions, making him the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years.
