Samsung and Google have recently announced a collaborative effort on a new extended reality headset, codenamed Project Moohan.

The product demonstration unveiled a key update: activation of the AI assistant will now utilize the command "Hey Gemini," superseding the previous "Hey Google" command. This change indicates the integration of enhanced features and a rebranding initiative for the headset's virtual assistant.

This development aligns with Google’s ongoing initiative to incorporate Gemini AI’s multimodal capabilities into a wider range of products.

Equipped with the Android XR interface, Samsung’s headset is anticipated to include innovative features from Gemini AI, such as gesture-based searching with Circle, the ability to view videos and photos on a virtual display via Google TV and Google Photos, as well as live translation and an enhanced version of Google Maps.

Pricing and detailed specifications are currently unavailable; however, product launch is anticipated within the next year. Concurrently, Google is collaborating with strategic partners, including Magic Leap, on future XR products incorporating AI and mixed reality capabilities.
