Nigerian Breweries Plc announces the appointment of Mrs. Juliet Anammah as its new Board Chair, effective January 1, 2025. This appointment marks a significant milestone for the company, as Mrs. Anammah is the first woman to assume this role.

In an announcement shared on its LinkedIn page, the company expressed, “We are pleased to confirm the appointment of Mrs. Juliet Anammah as the substantive Chair of the Nigerian Breweries Plc Board, effective January 1, 2025.” Mrs. Anammah takes over from Mr. Sijbe ‘Siep’ Hiemstra, who served as interim Chairman from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. The company extended its appreciation to Mr. Hiemstra for his leadership during a challenging period and noted that he will remain a member of the board.

Mrs. Juliet Anammah is a distinguished senior executive with a wealth of experience in consumer behavior, strategic planning, and operating model design. With over 27 years in various sectors, including consulting, consumer goods, sales and marketing, and eCommerce, she has demonstrated a strong ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives that enhance competitive positioning and financial outcomes.

Her previous roles include serving on the Board of CGAP, a non-profit organization supported by the IFC/World Bank and other Development Finance Institutions, dedicated to promoting financial inclusion in developing countries. Furthermore, she has been a member of the Industrial Council since 2018, a body of private and public sector experts appointed by the President of Nigeria to formulate policies that foster industrial development.

She commenced her professional journey at Sanofi Aventis, a French pharmaceutical firm, where she occupied various positions in sales, marketing, and product management from 1991 to 1999. In 1999, she transitioned to Accenture, where she advanced to the role of Partner/Managing Director, overseeing Accenture’s Manufacturing and Consumer Goods Practice throughout West Africa. In this capacity, she collaborated with numerous prominent clients to improve operational efficiency and enhance market presence.

Her accomplishments also encompass serving on multiple boards in a non-executive role, where she provided strategic oversight and direction to various organizations. These experiences have solidified her reputation as a dynamic leader with a profound understanding of the intricacies of both local and global markets.

Mrs. Anammah earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and an MBA in Finance. Additionally, she is an alumna of the esteemed Wharton Advanced Management Program.
