Amit Singh, the CEO of Adani Green Energy, will resign to assume the position of head of the Adani Group's international energy division, as announced by the renewable energy company on Monday.

Ashish Khanna, the current CEO of the group's international energy sector, will take over the role starting April 1.

Amit Singh, who previously served as a director at SLB, an oilfield services company, became the CEO of Adani Green in May 2023.

This leadership change follows allegations from US authorities that Gautam Adani, the group's founder, along with several senior executives at Adani Green, were involved in a scheme to pay $265 million in bribes to obtain power supply contracts in India. The Adani Group has dismissed these allegations as unfounded.

The indictment has had significant repercussions, leading French oil giant TotalEnergies to halt investments in the group, Adani Green to postpone a $600 million bond issuance, and credit rating agencies to raise concerns about the group's funding access.
