Dangote Refinery has commenced Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) exports to Cameroon. This represents the first export of petroleum products from Africa's largest refinery and signifies a new era of economic collaboration between Nigeria and Cameroon.

A Statement on Wednesday from Dangote Refinery attributes this achievement to a strategic partnership with Neptune Oil, a Cameroonian firm.

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of the Dangote Group, commented on this significant achievement, stating, "The first export of PMS to Cameroon exemplifies our vision for a unified and energy-independent Africa. This milestone lays the groundwork for a future where African resources are processed and traded within the continent for the benefit of our citizens."

The partnership is anticipated to provide a substantial boost to Cameroon’s energy sector. Antoine Ndzengue, Director and Owner of Neptune Oil, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, remarking, "This partnership with Dangote Refinery represents a pivotal moment for Cameroon. By being the first to import petroleum products from this premier refinery, we are enhancing our nation's energy security and fostering local economic growth."

This initial shipment, executed without the involvement of international intermediaries, underscores a growing emphasis on intra-African trade and self-sufficiency. Both companies are actively pursuing additional initiatives to create a dependable supply chain that could stabilize fuel prices and generate new economic opportunities throughout the region.

For Nigeria, this export highlights Dangote Refinery's ability to satisfy domestic demands while establishing itself as a vital player in the regional energy landscape. Situated in Lagos, the refinery boasts a processing capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, making it the largest single-train refinery globally.

This advancement showcases the refinery's considerable potential and underscores its commitment to driving energy transformation across Africa, Mr. Dangote stated.

Neptune Oil, a leading Cameroonian energy company, shares this dedication to sustainable and independent energy solutions.

"This initial shipment exemplifies our commitment to serving our markets with autonomy and efficiency," Mr. Ndzengue noted.
