Akinwale, a co-founder and former Business Director of the six-year-old agency, will assume his new leadership position starting November 1, 2024.
This transition follows the successful tenure of the agency's founding CEO, Sam Ochonma, who has recently concluded his term.
Mr. Ochonma will now take the helm of HookEnt as its inaugural CEO. The new subsidiary aims to invest in Nigeria’s creative economy, concentrating on the development of intellectual property, infrastructure, talent, and content within the entertainment sector.
Furthermore, Toheeb Dele-Balogun and Adebayo Owosina, who previously held the role of Creative Directors, will now take on the responsibilities of Chief Creative Officers, overseeing the agency's expanding creative services.
Owosina highlighted that this initiative is in line with The Hook’s long-term vision: “The Hook is designed to be more than just another creative agency, we’re building an African brand with a global presence. Our journey is one of intentional growth.”
In the last six years, The Hook has partnered with several of Nigeria's leading companies, such as Airtel, Meristem, Fidelity Bank, Leadway, Indomie, Sterling Bank, Wema Bank, Oando, Lush Hair, Fujifilm, and Enyo Retail. As it embarks on this new phase, The Hook is set to enhance its influence in the creative and entertainment industries both in Nigeria and internationally.
