Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, the Chairman of SIFAX Group, has made a significant contribution to his former school, Baptist Grammar School, located in Idi-Ishin, Ibadan, by donating a state-of-the-art building. This new facility aims to improve the educational environment and includes amenities such as a mini-conference room, staff restrooms, a Home Economics laboratory, and accommodations for corps members serving at the school.

The unveiling ceremony took place on Thursday, September 14, 2024, and was attended by members of the Baptist Grammar School Idi-Ishin Old Students Association (BAGOSA), faculty, students, representatives from the Oyo State Ministry of Education, and a delegation from SIFAX Group.

Mrs. Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, Group Coordinating Director of SIFAX Group, represented Dr. Afolabi at the event and emphasized the significance of investing in education to empower future generations. She stated:

“Education is the foundation of every successful society. By providing this facility, we are creating an environment where young minds can aspire, innovate, and flourish. This is more than just a building; it represents hope, a base for developing potential, and a commitment to ensuring that no child feels limited by their circumstances. It’s about initiating a wave of positive change.”

The principal of the school, Mr. Eyitayo Alade Bamidele, expressed profound appreciation for this timely contribution. He referred to the new facility as a “utility building” that will greatly improve the school’s infrastructure and operational capacity.

“When I presented this project to Dr. Afolabi, he welcomed it with enthusiasm and began funding it right away. This reflects his commitment to enhancing our school and community,” Mr. Bamidele remarked.

Mrs. Jaiyeola Lewis, President of BAGOSA, praised Dr. Afolabi and encouraged fellow alumni to take part in the ongoing improvement of the school.

“While we acknowledge the government’s efforts, we recognize that they cannot do it all. Alumni must continue to support and uplift our alma mater.”

The facility is now fully functional and will provide immediate advantages to students, staff, and corps members. SIFAX Group is also dedicated to its ongoing maintenance and long-term usability.

This initiative demonstrates the company's steadfast dedication to community development and corporate social responsibility, especially in the realm of education. It highlights Dr. Afolabi’s conviction in the transformative impact of high-quality learning environments in cultivating future leaders.
