Olusegun Runsewe, the President of the Nigeria Golf Federation, has launched an innovative online golf training program, marking a significant advancement in golf development within the country. This initiative is the first of its kind in Africa.

Runsewe expressed his excitement about transforming what was once merely an aspiration into a tangible reality. He noted, "This is a dream come true. A few years ago, I recognized that golf in Nigeria was too localized, and there was a pressing need to broaden our players' exposure."

He recounted his journey to South Africa, where discussions with professional golfers highlighted a gap in IT-based training for Nigerian pros. To address this, he arranged for two Nigerian professionals to attend a relevant training course in Botswana, which proved beneficial upon their return.

Despite the progress, Runsewe acknowledged the ongoing need for further exposure for Nigerian golfers. However, logistical challenges and costs associated with international training remained obstacles.

To overcome this, he reached out to Botswana's resident pro, Kelosiwaag Mpoh, who agreed to visit Nigeria at a reduced fee, providing modern training techniques to approximately 15 Nigerian professionals.
