The Port Harcourt Refinery Company (PHRC) has designated its petroleum products exclusively for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), as communicated by the oil company yesterday.

The available products, encompassing petrol, diesel, and kerosene, are earmarked for retail outlets operated by the NNPCL, as confirmed by Chief Corporate Communications Officer Olufemi Soneye.

Production at the PHRC in Eleme, Port Harcourt, Rivers State resumed on Tuesday, with a commitment to dispatch a minimum of 200 trucks daily.

However, Soneye noted that the refinery has not yet initiated bulk sales of its products and has not activated its purchasing portal.

This clarification coincided with a statement from the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), indicating that its members are awaiting the new petrol pricing structure from the revitalized PHRC.

Soneye further explained that the NNPCL has not completely distributed the products it acquired from the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals.

He stated, “We have not yet started bulk sales, and our purchase portal remains closed as we are still finalizing the necessary procedures.

“Currently, the products available for sale are those sourced from the Dangote Refinery, which includes fees from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

“The output from Port Harcourt is exclusively for our retail outlets. Our pricing is subject to regular reviews and adjustments as necessary.”

Additionally, PETROAN's National President, Dr. Billy Harry, mentioned that the NNPCL has not yet established a new pricing rate.

The association remarked, “The National Headquarters of Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) in Abuja wishes to inform the media and the public that no new price for PMS has been announced by the NNPCL Port Harcourt Refinery.”

Members of PETROAN have exclusively purchased PMS using the previous pricing template while awaiting the announcement of new prices. We are pleased to report that the production and loading of refined petroleum products have begun at the Port Harcourt Refinery, and we look forward to NNPC soon declaring the price of PMS, which will be advantageous for Nigerians.
