Nestlé SA has unveiled two novel nutritional products, Materna Pre and Materna Nausea, designed to augment female fertility and mitigate prevalent pregnancy-related symptoms, notably nausea and vomiting.

The organization underscored an escalating demand for solutions addressing women's health, projecting a substantial single-digit growth in this market over the ensuing three-year period..

"There are significant gaps in addressing the specific needs associated with conception, digestive issues during pregnancy, and postpartum recovery. For instance, nearly 70% of pregnant women experience nausea and vomiting during the first trimester or throughout their pregnancy," the company stated.

"Women need targeted nutrients to help them navigate these challenges. The introduction of these new products seeks to tap into the potential of this underserved and promising market," it added.

Serena Aboutboul, Senior Vice-President and Head of the Nutrition Business at Nestlé, remarked, "Enhancing our maternal health offerings is a key strategic priority. The expansion of the Materna line with these two new products underscores our dedication to providing women with customized, science-driven nutrition solutions, supporting them from pre-conception through pregnancy and into postpartum.

This initiative will ultimately contribute to enhanced health outcomes for both mothers and their infants.
