Miami Beach has officially rescinded the Key to the City from Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the American rapper and songwriter, amid his ongoing legal issues.

The city severed its association with the business mogul following multiple allegations and lawsuits against him. Mayor Steven Meiner made the decision to revoke the honor during a unanimous vote at an in-person hearing last week.

This action comes nine years after Diddy was awarded the Key to the City in recognition of his contributions to the music industry and his significant role in organizing the Revolt Music Conference in Miami Beach in 2015.

Currently, the 54-year-old artist is facing serious federal charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering. His legal troubles began to escalate in November 2023 when Cassie accused him of rape, abuse, and human trafficking during their decade-long relationship; this lawsuit was settled out of court just one day after being filed.

Following this, Diddy faced another lawsuit in Manhattan, where a woman named Joi Dickerson-Neal alleged that he drugged and raped her while she was a college student at Syracuse University in 1991.

On the same day, another woman accused Diddy of sexual assault, claiming that he and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall took turns raping her and a friend in New York City over 30 years ago.

In December, a fourth victim came forward, alleging that Diddy, along with Harve Pierre, the former president of Bad Boy Entertainment, and another individual, were involved in sex trafficking and gang rape when she was just 17.

Most recently, on February 26, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a former producer and videographer for Diddy, filed a lawsuit claiming that the rapper sexually harassed and drugged him. In May, another former model, Crystal McKinney, also filed a lawsuit, alleging that Diddy drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2003.
