Nigerian music sensation Daniel Anidugbe, known professionally as Kizz Daniel, has announced a surprising break from his music career, much to the astonishment of his fans.

The artist revealed that he will not be releasing any new music until 2026, following the anticipated launch of his upcoming EP, Uncle K, which is set to debut on November 29, 2024.

“After this, I no dey drop anything again until 2026,” he announced on his X handle on Friday, sparking a wave of reactions from fans who expressed their mixed feelings at the thought of his absence from the music scene.

Since his rise to fame with the hit single Woju in 2016, Kizz Daniel has become one of Nigeria’s leading artists, boasting five studio albums and an impressive array of chart-topping songs.

Amid the conversations about his break, the artist also shared a personal tragedy, revealing that his wife recently lost her mother to breast cancer.

He urged his fanbase, the Vaddicts, to keep her memory in their thoughts and prayers.

“My wife lost her mom to breast cancer, and I’m here mourning with her… Say a prayer for her mom, Vaddicts,” he wrote.

As fans brace for the wait, Uncle K promises to be a significant farewell project, showcasing the talent that has solidified Kizz Daniel's position in the Afrobeats genre.
