Investment relations between Nigeria and India have received a significant enhancement, as the Indian firm Padiyath Healthcare announced a commitment of $100 million towards Nigeria's healthcare sector. This announcement was made by Dr. Hazeeb Padiyath, Chairman of Padiyath Healthcare, during a speech in Abuja coinciding with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent official visit to Nigeria.

Dr. Padiyath emphasized that the forthcoming investments will facilitate access to world-class medical treatment for Nigerians at a reasonable cost. He revealed that the company is preparing to launch a state-of-the-art hospital in Abuja, which is part of its long-term investment strategy in the country.

The initial project, named "Padiyath Mayfields Hospitals," will feature a 300-bed tertiary care facility located in Suncity Estates, Galadimawa, Abuja. He noted that once operational, it will stand as Nigeria's largest private sector hospital.

During the visit of the Indian Prime Minister, he highlighted that the hospital will be equipped with advanced diagnostic technology, the first of its kind in West Africa, with plans for completion by February 2025. Additionally, he announced plans for a second facility, Padiyath Cancare Hospitals, which will be a 200-bed cancer institute also situated in Abuja. This center will be fully equipped with advanced cancer treatment technologies, including PET scans, linear accelerators, and gamma knives.

Padiyath Healthcare is an Indian multinational healthcare provider with a presence in India, the Middle East, and Africa. The expansion into Africa is driven by Dr. Padiyath's vision to deliver quality and affordable healthcare across the continent.
