Gospel singer Dare Melody shared that his family caused a lot of frustration for his late wife.

Nigerian Gospel artist Damilare Odunuga, widely recognized as Dare Melody, has recounted the challenges his late wife, Adedoyin, faced due to his family's actions.

Adedoyin passed away from a heart-related condition on October 24, 2024.

In a widely circulated video on the Kilarigbo YouTube channel, Dare Melody revealed the difficult experiences Adedoyin suffered as a result of his family's behavior.

He said, “My family frustrated Adedoyin, I will hold her and say, ‘Adedoyin, I am the one you got married to, and whenever you see me, put your mind at rest.

“She was there for me, whether we had food to eat or not. God told me I would release a record in 2010, which became ‘Goodness and Mercy’, and the record revived my career. God used it to open the way for me, and I started building a house.

“A friend called me and said ‘this woman stood by you; let’s build a house for her,’ and I said, ‘everything I have belongs to her.”

The couple entered into matrimony in October 2017 and have three daughters together.

Dare Melody shared a challenging chapter in his career when a promoter attempted to prevent his music from being aired on the radio for almost four years.

“I couldn’t do anything, but my late wife stood by me,” he said. “When people celebrated the New Year, I ate biscuits with her and our one-year-old daughter. I told the Lord, ‘If truly you’re the one who called me, let people know you did.’”

In 2010, his album Goodness and Mercy marked a turning point, rejuvenating his career. “God cleared the path for me, and I started constructing a house. A friend reached out and suggested, ‘This woman has been your support; let’s build a house for her,’ to which I replied, ‘Everything I possess is for her.’”
