Canada has decided to wind down TikTok's operations in the country, but users can still access the app.

Canada announced on Wednesday the termination of TikTok's operations within the country, citing concerns over national security. However, the government clarified that it is not restricting Canadians' access to the app or their ability to produce content.

Innovation Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne stated, "The government is taking steps to mitigate the specific national security risks associated with ByteDance Ltd's activities in Canada by establishing TikTok Technology Canada Inc."

Champagne further explained that the decision was informed by the information and evidence gathered during the review process, as well as guidance from Canada's security and intelligence agencies and other governmental partners.
