Edo Queens delivered an impressive performance on Sunday, defeating fellow newcomers CBE FC at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. Goals from Emem Essien, Folashade Ljamilusi, and Chukwuamaka Osigwe were sufficient for the WAFU B champions to secure a crucial victory in their CAF Women’s Champions League debut.

Under the guidance of Coach Moses Aduku, the team started strong, with Essien scoring in the fifth minute from a well-placed cross by Ljamilusi. The Benin-based squad doubled their lead in the 54th minute, as Ljamilusi capitalized on a clever combination with Esther Moses, sending the ball into the top corner of the net.

With the match firmly under their control, the Nigerians maintained a significant share of possession, while CBE struggled to threaten their defense. The victory was sealed in the 80th minute when 17-year-old substitute Osigwe skillfully controlled a pass from Moses and fired a left-footed shot that left the goalkeeper helpless.

This commanding win positions the Queens at the top of Group B, with FC Masar trailing them after their earlier 1-0 victory over reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies. Edo Queens will next face FC Masar of Egypt in their second group match on Wednesday.
