The accomplishments of Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli have been further enhanced in 2024 with the notable addition of Canadian recognition.

The Mayor of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Patrick Brown, presented her with a certificate of recognition, acknowledging her substantial contributions through her recent film, The Uprising.

Oboli took to Instagram to share a video capturing the special moment, conveying her joy and appreciation for the warm welcome she received at the mayor’s office.


In her post, she mentioned that several staff members from Mayor Brown’s office had viewed The Uprising in Canadian theaters, generating excitement in the city for an upcoming grand screening of the film.

“Brampton is a vibrant community in Ontario, Canada, and I’m so thrilled to partner with Brampton,”  she expressed, extending her gratitude to Mayor Brown and acknowledging the support of her collaborators on the project.
