Blackouts were reported in various regions across the country, including Abuja and Lagos. As of now, there has been no official statement from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) regarding this matter.

SaharaReporters reported on Wednesday that TCN had announced the restoration of supply to the Abuja area and other key distribution centers nationwide following a grid collapse on Monday.
TCN's General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, confirmed this in a statement, indicating that the restoration process was ongoing and nearing completion.
On Monday, SaharaReporters noted that the national grid's collapse led to widespread blackouts, as distribution companies reported an inability to supply power to their customers.
TCN also acknowledged the situation, stating that the national grid experienced a partial disturbance on Monday, October 14, 2024, at approximately 6:48 p.m.
