Bayern Munich's attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala is expected to be sidelined for several matches with a hip injury, affecting both his club and the German national team.

On Friday, Bayern announced that Musiala would be “out for the time being.” He had been named in Germany’s squad on Thursday, but the team later confirmed that he would not participate in the upcoming Nations League fixtures this month against Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Netherlands.

Stuttgart winger Jamie Leweling has been called up to replace Musiala and could potentially make his debut for Germany.

Musiala played the full second half during Bayern’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Champions League on Wednesday, marking the first loss for new coach Vincent Kompany. Bayern currently leads the Bundesliga and is set to face Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.
