Honeywell has entered into a partnership with Google to integrate artificial intelligence technology with its industrial data, as announced by both companies on Monday. This collaboration aims to provide enhanced autonomous operations for Honeywell's clients.

The alliance will combine Google's Gemini, its most sophisticated AI technology, with Honeywell's industrial data sourced from its Forge platform. This integration is designed to automate various tasks and shorten project timelines, addressing the ongoing labor shortages in the industry.

The AI-driven tools will facilitate automation for engineers, warehouse personnel, and technicians, among others, with the initial AI-enabled solutions expected to be available to Honeywell's customers by 2025.

Vimal Kapur, chairman and CEO of Honeywell, stated, "The journey toward autonomy necessitates that assets operate more effectively, individuals work more intelligently, and processes become more efficient."

With the introduction of a new AI agent based on Google's Vertex AI platform, Honeywell anticipates that automated tasks will lead to shorter project design cycles. The company noted that users will have the capability to process diverse data types, including images, videos, text, and sensor data.

In an effort to capitalize on the current surge in AI technology, Honeywell aims to lower maintenance expenses, enhance operational efficiency, and "upskill employees" through this partnership for the benefit of its customers.
