Guinness Nigeria Plc has announced the resignation of Mr. Emmanuel Difom from his position as Director of Finance and Strategy, with Mr. Mayank Kabra appointed to succeed him, effective November 1, 2024.

In a statement released on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and signed by the company’s Legal Director and Secretary, Abidemi Ademola, the Board expressed gratitude to Mr. Difom for his contributions and extended best wishes for his future endeavors with Diageo.

The statement highlighted Mr. Kabra’s educational qualifications and extensive professional background, particularly in consulting and the consumer goods sector across Africa and other emerging markets, including Malaysia and India.

New Appointee Profile

Mr. Kabra commenced his career at PWC India in 2003, specializing in Risk Advisory and Internal Audit Services. By 2006, he was managing significant clients across various sectors, including metals, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and consumer products. He subsequently held several finance positions at Mondelez and Kellogg (now Kellanova) in India and Malaysia, and in March 2016, he was appointed CFO of the Kellogg Tolaram Joint Venture in West Africa.

He holds a degree from the University of Pune, India, and is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).

The statement noted, “Guinness Nigeria Plc (the Company) hereby informs the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public of a change to its Board of Directors following the completion of a majority share transfer to N Seven Nigeria Limited, as follows:  

  • Resignation of Mr. Emmanuel Difom as Finance and Strategy Director effective October 31, 2024, and
  • Appointment of Mr. Mayank Kabra as Finance and Strategy Director effective November 1, 2024.”

The structure of the company's Board has been updated. The company announced that with Mr. Kubra's appointment as Director of Finance and Strategy, the Board will officially include the following members starting November 1st, 2024.
