Google is set to create artificial intelligence aimed at enabling autonomous control of computers.
Alphabet's Google is working on an artificial intelligence (AI) technology that will enable a web browser to operate independently, facilitating tasks such as research and online shopping.
Sources familiar with the initiative indicate that the tool, referred to as ‘Project Jarvis’, may be showcased as soon as December, coinciding with the launch of Google’s new Gemini large language model.
In a similar vein, Microsoft-supported OpenAI is also striving to develop models that can autonomously navigate the web, utilizing a “computer-using agent” (CUA) to execute actions based on findings, as reported by Reuters in July.
Additionally, both Anthropic and Google are making strides in creating software that can directly engage with a user’s browser or computer. Google has yet to provide a response to requests for comments.
