Emirates, based in Dubai, announced on Thursday the cancellation of flights to Iraq, Iran, and Jordan for a period of three days due to "regional unrest" following an Iranian missile strike on Israel that heightened concerns of an expanded conflict.

The airline stated, "Emirates is cancelling all flights to/from Iraq (Basra and Baghdad), Iran (Tehran), and Jordan (Amman) on October 4th and 5th due to regional unrest," effective immediately.

As the largest airline in the Middle East, Emirates had previously declared the suspension of flights between Dubai and Beirut until October 8, with several other airlines also halting certain services.

Qatar Airways has also temporarily suspended its flights to and from Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon, although it did not provide a timeline for the resumption of these services.

On Tuesday, the German airline group Lufthansa announced it would suspend flights to Beirut until November 30. Additionally, Lufthansa group flights to Tel Aviv will be canceled until October 31, and flights to Tehran are suspended until October 14.

On Tuesday, Iran launched approximately 200 missiles, including hypersonic weapons, towards Israel, with some missiles traversing Jordanian and Iraqi airspace. Israel reported that it intercepted the majority of these missiles.
