Chowdeck, a rapidly expanding food delivery service in Nigeria, has announced that it has exceeded N30 billion in total deliveries for the year 2024, as stated by CEO and co-founder Femi Aluko.

This achievement underscores the platform's swift growth and increasing impact within Nigeria's food service sector.

In a social media update, Aluko, one of the innovators transforming Nigeria's food service landscape, emphasized the company's remarkable progress, revealing that Chowdeck now has over one million registered users.

“Last week, we reached a milestone of 1 million registered users on Chowdeck. In that same week, we also surpassed N30 billion in deliveries for 2024,” he tweeted. Aluko reflected on the company’s impressive journey, noting its growth from just 319 users in its inaugural month to over a million as it nears its third anniversary.

He attributed the company’s achievements to the dedication of its team, partners, and users. “My co-founders and I are incredibly thankful for the chance to build this with you. We are honored to serve more than 3,000 businesses, over 10,000 riders, and 1 million users across eight states in Nigeria.

We have gained invaluable insights over the past few years, and we are enthusiastic about unlocking the next phase of growth. It’s still Day 0, and we look forward to what lies ahead,” he stated.

Earlier this year, Chowdeck raised $2.5 million in seed funding to enhance its operations and support its growth initiatives. This funding round, highlighted by Nairametrics in April, attracted prominent investors such as Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, FounderX Ventures, and Hoaq Fund, among others. Additionally, it saw participation from influential leaders in the global technology and delivery sectors, including Simon Borrero and Juan Pablo Ortega, co-founders of Rappi, Latin America’s largest delivery service, as well as Shola Akinlade and Ezra Olubi, co-founders of Paystack.

Since its launch in October 2021, in the wake of the COVID-19 lockdown in Lagos, Chowdeck has experienced significant growth, establishing itself as a key player in Nigeria’s food delivery industry.

The platform has expanded its services to eight major cities, including Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and Port Harcourt, and operates with a fleet of over 3,000 riders. According to the company, Chowdeck’s riders earn salaries comparable to those of senior civil servants in Nigeria, underscoring the platform’s contribution to job creation.

The recent funding has been crucial in reinforcing Chowdeck's market position in its current cities while also paving the way for entry into new markets across Nigeria. As Chowdeck continues to grow, it aims to solidify its role in Nigeria’s dynamic food delivery and logistics landscape, with ambitious plans for future expansion.
