The five-time defending English champions took an early lead with a goal from rising talent Agnes Beever-Jones, marking her first in the competition. Japanese forward Maika Hamano extended the lead with a long-range effort that caught home goalkeeper Olivia Clark off guard. Chelsea further solidified their advantage with a penalty from Guro Reiten in the second half, while Nikee van Dijk netted a consolation goal for Twente.

Earlier, Real Madrid rebounded from their opening loss to Chelsea with a commanding 4-0 victory over Celtic. Scotland international Caroline Weir opened the scoring with a stunning left-footed strike from outside the box in the seventh minute.
The hosts doubled their lead in the 72nd minute with a header from Signe Bruun, and Caroline Moller, coming off the bench, added a spectacular third with a 30-yard lob. Colombian star Linda Caicedo capped off the scoring with a penalty. Real Madrid, aiming to avoid a third consecutive group-stage exit, currently sits in second place, ahead of Twente on goal difference.
Lyon also achieved their second win in Group A with a solid 2-0 victory against two-time champions Wolfsburg. France centre-back Wendie Renard opened the scoring in the eighth minute, and US Olympic gold medallist Lindsey Horan converted a penalty in the second half. Last season’s runners-up Lyon are positioned behind Roma in the standings on goal difference and will face the Italian club in November.
Roma maintained their impressive momentum in Group A, achieving a commanding 6-1 victory over tournament newcomers Galatasaray in Istanbul, with six distinct players finding the net.
