The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) reports that out of the total passengers, 108,055 were departing and 104,646 were arriving. The previous record for a single month was set in December 2023, with 198,961 passengers, averaging 6,418 per day.
Following that, July 2024 saw 195,909 passengers, with 100,767 arrivals and 95,142 departures, averaging 6,319 daily. August 2023 ranks fourth, with 191,507 international passengers, averaging 6,177 per day.
In terms of cargo, Entebbe handled 3,525 metric tons of exports and 1,885 metric tons of imports, totaling 5,410 metric tons in August 2024.
Over recent years, Uganda Airlines has introduced several new flight routes, contributing to the increase in passenger traffic at Entebbe.
Recently, the airline commenced flights to Abuja, Nigeria's administrative capital, following its launch of services to Lagos, the commercial center of West Africa.
The airline plans to expand its routes to an additional 15 destinations.
