Google Cloud has announced an enhanced strategic partnership with Snap Inc. aimed at enriching generative AI experiences within My AI, Snapchat’s AI-driven chatbot, which ranks among the largest consumer chatbots currently available.
Snapchat will utilize the advanced multimodal capabilities of Gemini on Vertex AI, particularly its proficiency in processing and interpreting various forms of information, including text, audio, images, video, and code. This integration will enable Snapchat to provide more interactive and innovative features for its community through My AI. For instance, users can request My AI to translate a photo of a street sign while traveling or to analyze a video of different snack options to determine which is the healthiest.
Since its launch on Google Cloud in 2011, Snapchat has offered a dynamic and enjoyable way to communicate visually with friends and family. The enduring appeal of these fundamental product attributes has set Snapchat apart from other online platforms, contributing to its growth to over 850 million monthly active users.
