Team Nigeria has achieved another remarkable feat with Bose Omolayo securing a silver medal in the women’s up to 79kg Para Powerlifting event at the ongoing Paralympic Games.

This marks Omolayo's third consecutive podium finish at the Paralympics, as she lifted 145kg to earn the silver, complementing her previous gold medals from the Rio and Tokyo Games.

Despite showing signs of discomfort during her third attempt due to a right arm injury sustained during her first lift, Omolayo managed to score two consecutive no-lifts. Nevertheless, her earlier performance was sufficient to clinch a medal for her nation.

On Saturday, she contributed to Nigeria's tally, bringing the total to six medals overall.
