This initiative aims to assist vulnerable households grappling with rising food prices and various economic difficulties in the nation.
Mrs. Folashade Afolabi highlighted that the escalating cost of living has adversely affected the underprivileged and low-income individuals, emphasizing that her collaboration with AAAF seeks to offer relief to the chosen widows.
She stated, “The Foundation is dedicated to aiding the less fortunate and has numerous programs designed to support them and their families. My partnership with the Foundation aims to enhance their financial capabilities, enabling them to serve more effectively and reach a broader audience. The past few months have witnessed a significant rise in living costs, particularly in food prices. Widows, due to their financial circumstances, are particularly vulnerable to economic fluctuations. This food donation is intended to provide comfort to these widows and their families.”
Foluke Ademokun, Executive Coordinator of AAAF, reiterated the foundation’s dedication to assisting underprivileged communities, particularly widows and their children. “This initiative is part of our continuous efforts to offer relief and support to those in dire need. We are immensely thankful to Mrs. Folashade Afolabi for her compassionate support, which enables us to assist more beneficiaries,” she remarked.
The widows expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the foundation’s generous act. One widow, Mrs. Egwuonwu, shared, “This donation has arrived at a crucial moment for us. I was already worrying about what my children would eat. It’s not just about the rice; it’s about the reassurance that we are not alone in our struggles. We are thankful to the foundation for keeping us in their thoughts.”
