The University of Ibadan (UI) has announced that candidates who scored below 200 in the 2024 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be considered for admission to its Distance Learning Center (DLC).

This declaration was made in a statement signed by the Director of DLC, Professor Babatunde Omobowale, on Monday.

Professor Omobowale further stated that any candidate seeking to pursue undergraduate degrees at the university will be enrolled through the Open Distance eLearning (ODel) mode.

He stated that the institution made this decision to ensure that quality education is available to everyone.

The academic official further emphasized that both new and returning students are expected to commence their studies in September.

Omobowale remarked, "UI is dedicated to providing quality education to all individuals."

He also noted, "Candidates who achieved scores below 200 in the JAMB UTME or did not participate in the UTME are encouraged to seize this opportunity and enroll in any of the University’s undergraduate programs offered in ODeL mode."
