International Breweries Plc, a producer of alcoholic beverages in Nigeria, has announced the appointment of Chijioke Nkechinyere Ugochukwu as its new Independent Non-Executive Director, effective July 25, 2024.
A recent statement highlighted that Ugochukwu is a Chartered
Director and a Fellow of both the Institute of Directors (IoD) in the United
Kingdom and the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD Nigeria), as
well as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Nigeria (CIBN).
With 34 years of experience in boardroom roles, she
currently serves as an Independent Director at Access Pensions Limited and
Consolidated Hallmark Holdings Plc, in addition to her positions as a
Non-Executive Director at Chams Holdings Plc and Card Centre Nigeria Limited.
Furthermore, she is actively involved in various committees
and councils of CIoD Nigeria, CIBN, and the Lagos Business School (LBS), and is
a member of the Board of Governors at Babington Macaulay Seminary.
Ugochukwu previously held the role of Executive Director of
Shared Services & Products and Chief Information Officer at Fidelity Bank
Plc. She earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons.) from Obafemi Awolowo
University, Ile-Ife, and a Barrister at Law (BL) from the Nigerian Law School.
Additionally, she possesses a Master of Business Administration from
IESE/University de Navarre in Barcelona.
The new non-executive director has participated in numerous
Executive Education programs worldwide at prestigious institutions, including
the Institute of Directors UK, the Institute of Management Development (IMD),
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard Business School, Stanford
Graduate School of Business, Oxford Said Business School, The Wharton School,
and Columbia Business School, among others.
She also teaches Business Ethics and Women in Leadership
courses at the Lagos Business School.
