In a strategic initiative aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing its reputation, Premium Pension Limited has appointed Mr. Hamisu Bala Idris as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, alongside Mrs. Maryam Mohammed as the new Executive Director. Mr. Hamisu takes over from Mr. Umar Sanda Mairami, who has officially retired from his position.

Mr. Hamisu Idris brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a robust background in banking and pension fund management.

His career commenced at Inland Bank Limited in 1999, where he worked as a Funds Transfer Officer.

In 2003, he transitioned to Broad Bank Limited as a Customer Service Manager, and after the banking consolidation reforms in 2006, he advanced to the role of Branch Leader at Fidelity Bank.

During his first staff meeting, Mr. Hamisu expressed his dedication to transforming Premium Pension into a more customer-focused organization, in line with the company’s mission and vision. He remarked, “We will prioritize our customers and strive to serve them effectively. Our customers will be central to our strategy.” He also underscored the significance of capacity building to ensure that Premium Pension employees maintain high professional standards.

Mr. Hamisu has been involved in the pension sector since 2011, when he took on the role of Head of Marketing at Premium Pension. His professional journey has included significant positions at FUG Pensions, Veritas Pensions, and Fidelity Pension Managers, where he was responsible for Business Development and Strategy. In 2019, he expanded his knowledge and skills at Investment-One Pension Managers, where he was appointed as Managing Director. Prior to his current role, he served as the Managing Director and CEO of Norrenberger Pensions Limited, a position he has held since 2022.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Hamisu has participated in a variety of esteemed training programs and business schools, both domestically and internationally, which have greatly enhanced his professional growth.

Additionally, the Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Mrs. Maryam L. Mohammed as Executive Director. Mrs. Maryam is a highly experienced IT specialist and operations management professional, bringing over two decades of expertise to her new position. She earned a first-class bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Abuja and a master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Lagos. As a graduate of the Lagos Business School Senior Management Programme (SMP 69), she also possesses several notable certifications, including IT Business Manager Certification (ITBMC), ITIL Version 3, Oracle Certified Associate (OCA), and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).

Mrs. Maryam commenced her professional journey at NITEL, where she advanced from the position of Programmer/System Analyst to the role of Head of Billing Administration for the Lagos Zone. As a founding member of Premium Pension Limited, she has undertaken several pivotal leadership positions, including Head of Operations and Acting Head of Human Resources & Administration. Her strategic leadership in client engagement, market growth, and data management has played a crucial role in the company's achievements.

Mrs. Maryam's vision and commitment to excellence are anticipated to be vital in establishing Premium Pension Limited as a prominent entity within Nigeria's financial services sector.
