The Premier League has levied a £2 million fine against Manchester City Football Club for repeated violations of kick-off and restart regulations.
Over the past two seasons, City has been found to have
initiated or resumed play late on 22 occasions. During this period, the club
managed to secure the league title, surpassing Arsenal.
In a statement, the Premier League confirmed that Manchester
City FC has acknowledged its non-compliance with Rule L.33, which pertains to
kick-off and restart obligations.
The breaches occurred during several Premier League matches throughout the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.
