Victor Osimhen will continue his tenure at Napoli after the Serie A club and Premier League team Chelsea were unable to finalize an agreement for the Nigerian forward prior to the summer transfer deadline.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that discussions between Napoli and Chelsea collapsed late in the transfer window, placing Osimhen in a challenging situation.

Romano stated on his X account, “No agreement has been reached between Victor Osimhen and Chelsea, even after a new proposal was submitted two hours ago.

The deal is completely off for Victor Osimhen. There is no agreement with Chelsea, and the #CFC delegation is now departing from Napoli.

If there are no developments from Saudi Arabia in the next three days, Osimhen will remain at Napoli, but he will not be included in the first-team squad. The relationship is currently entirely fractured.”

On Thursday, Romano mentioned that Napoli had come to an agreement with Saudi club Al Ahli for Osimhen, with the deal valued at €75/80 million.

He also indicated that Osimhen would be contracted to the club for four years, earning €25/30 million annually.

Additionally, Romano noted that the proposal included a reasonable and easily executable release clause for Osimhen, which is lower than the reported €100 million.
