Manchester City emerged victorious over Manchester United in a penalty shootout to secure the Community Shield trophy.


Manchester City triumphed over Manchester United in a dramatic penalty shootout, winning 7-6 to claim the FA Community Shield on Saturday.

The match concluded with a 1-1 draw after the regulation 90 minutes, necessitating a penalty shootout to determine the season's Community Shield champion.

Following the initial round of penalties, which ended in a 4-4 tie, City successfully converted three additional penalties, while United managed to score two, securing the victory for the Premier League champions and marking their first trophy of the new season.

In the first half, Oscar Bobb maneuvered skillfully out of a challenging position within the box and attempted a shot, which the goalkeeper narrowly missed, sending the ball just over the crossbar.

In the 24th minute, James McAtee made a notable entry into the box to support his teammate, receiving an excellent pass and shooting from close range, only to see his effort strike the left post.

Jeremy Doku squandered a significant opportunity in the 44th minute, receiving a superb pass but sending his shot from inside the penalty area just wide of the left post.

In the 75th minute, Marcus Rashford capitalized on an accurate pass within the box, unleashing a shot that also hit the left post.

United took the lead with eight minutes remaining in the match when Alejandro Garnacho capitalized on a brilliant pass, executing a precise shot that found the inside of the right post.

However, City equalized just one minute before the final whistle, with substitute Bernardo Silva scoring from a lofted pass by Oscar Bobb, heading the ball into an unguarded net.
