He remarked, “I commend our remarkable ladies for their outstanding performance in becoming champions of the CAF Women’s League WAFU qualifiers. They have represented us well and fulfilled their promise to make us proud.

“For the past eight years, we have focused on ensuring equal pay with their male counterparts to inspire them. Their success confirms that our decision was correct.

This marks their first sub-continental championship, and they have showcased their talent impressively. It is a promising indication of future achievements.”

Obaseki further stated, “I congratulate the team on their well-earned victory and encourage them to maintain their excellent form as they aim to replicate this success in the CAF Women’s Champions League.”
