The upcoming episode of CNN International’s program, African Voices Changemakers, will feature five prominent figures in African music.

The 30-minute show, sponsored by Globacom, Nigeria’s leading telecommunications company, will showcase the talents and achievements of these individuals.

Among them are Glo ambassador, songwriter, singer, and actor Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, known by his stage name Chike; the gifted singer and rapper Candy Bleakz, whose real name is Blessing Akiode; Damilola Abdul Rasak Afolabi, also known as L.A.X; Ekeh Chiaka Joseph, better known as Majeeed; and Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay.

Chike, aged 31, is a graduate of Covenant University. He gained recognition through his participation in a reality talent competition on television. In addition to his musical endeavors, he has also made significant contributions to the field of acting. Renowned for his popular tracks, Chike was honored with the Album of the Year award at the 2020 City People Music Awards for his debut album, Boo of the Booless, which features 14 tracks.

L.A.X, who is also 31, holds a master’s degree from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. He commenced his career as a rapper as part of a trio called Flybois.

Rapper Candy Bleakz embarked on her musical journey in 2013 with her first album, “Blessing Sky,” and in 2020, she joined Chocolate City Music. Majoreet obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Iscom University in the Republic of Benin, launching his career with two promotional singles, “Gee for Life” and “Rocky Lo.”

Wendy Shay, 28, represents Ghana on this week’s show. She is a registered nurse who pursued music studies in Bernhausen, Germany, to enhance her musical skills. Her career took off in 2018 with the release of her debut single, “Uber Driver.”

The program will be broadcast on DSTV Channel 401 on Saturday at 8:30 a.m., with a repeat at noon the same day. Additional repeats are scheduled for Sunday at 4:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday at 4:00 a.m., and the following Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon. It will also air again on Sunday at 4:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., as well as on Monday at 4:00 a.m.
