The 4th CHINET Aviacargo Conference is scheduled to occur in Lagos on August 22, uniting prominent figures from the aviation, cargo, and insurance sectors. This event, organized by ATQNEWS LTD, is recognized as the leading air cargo conference in West Africa.

This year's gathering will showcase a notable roster of insurance experts, with Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, the Insurance Commissioner, attending as a special guest. Among the distinguished participants are Chief Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja, the former Chairman of the African Insurance Brokers Association; Mr. Eddie Efekoha, Group Managing Director of Consolidated Hallmark Holdings; Mr. Dayo Arowojolu, Managing Director of Unitrust Insurance Co. Ltd.; Mr. Moruf Apampa, CEO of NSIA Insurance; and Mr. Babajide Fajemirokun, MD/CEO of AIICO Insurance Plc.

The conference will explore the vital connection between airlines and insurance, with Mr. Eddie Efekoha leading the discourse, accompanied by panelists Messrs. Fajemirokun, Apampa, and Ms. Omowale Olatunde-Agbeja. Furthermore, Capt. Chris Najomo, Acting Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), will address aviation regulations pertinent to air cargo, while Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, MD of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), along with the newly established Directorate of Cargo Development Services, will emphasize FAAN’s contributions to the enhancement of air cargo operations in Nigeria.

Ed Boyo, CEO of Nigeria’s leading airline, will provide his perspectives, and the aviation panel, moderated by Olumide Ohunayo, General Secretary of the Aviation Round Table, will feature Dr. Alex Nwuba, President of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Daniel Mckorley, Chairman of MCDAN Aviation Ghana.

The presentations will encompass a range of topics related to the development of air cargo, featuring insights from Remi Jibodu, Acting COO of MMA2, who will discuss the significance of airports, and George Uriesi, COO of Ibom Air, who will highlight the contributions of airlines. Capt. John Ojikutu is set to explore the potential opportunities within domestic air cargo, while Ayo Ife-Lewis from Greater Washington will focus on the challenges faced in this sector.

Additionally, Mrs. Nkechi Onyeso, CEO of Pathfinders, will address the importance of export integrity and security, with input from NAFDAC and the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services (NAQS) regarding the maintenance of product integrity for exports.

Freight forwarders NAGAFF and APFFLON will also present their roles in advancing Nigeria’s air cargo industry.
