UEFA has officially unveiled its Euro 2024 Team of the Tournament, recognizing the exceptional performances of individual players throughout the championship.
The lineup, presented In a 4-3-3 formation, comprises
players from various nations who demonstrated exceptional performance
throughout the competition. Notably, the Spanish contingent dominates the
selection, reflecting their triumph as the tournament’s victors.
In the goalkeeping position, Mike Maignan of France has been
selected due to his string of remarkable performances.
The defensive lineup consists of Kyle Walker from England,
Manuel Akanji from Switzerland, William Saliba from France, and Marc Cucurella
from Spain.
The midfield trio consists of Spain’s Rodri, Fabián Ruiz and
Dani Olmo.
The forward line is particularly noteworthy, with Germany’s
Jamal Musiala as the central striker, flanked by Spain’s Lamine Yamal and Nico
Williams.
This young and dynamic attacking trio made a substantial and
positive impact on their respective teams.
In the meantime, Rodri was recognized as the most outstanding player of the Euro 2024 tournament. His exceptional performance contributed significantly to La Roja’s triumph over England with a score of 2-1, securing their fourth victory in the competition. The momentous event took place in Berlin on Sunday.
During the final match, Rodri sustained a knee injury and
had to be substituted at halftime. Despite this setback, he was recognized for
his outstanding contributions throughout the tournament, which included
victories over Germany and France, leading Spain to the championship game.
The Manchester City player's sole goal during the tournament
was achieved by scoring the equalizer in a 4-1 victory against Georgia in the
round of 16.
Nevertheless, coach Luis de la Fuente praised him as an “exceptional
strategist” for his precise passing and game comprehension, which were crucial
in guiding a young team through a challenging tournament to victory.
