Samsung has reached an agreement to acquire Oxford Semantic, a British artificial intelligence (AI) startup.


Samsung Electronics announced on Thursday that it has reached an agreement to acquire Oxford Semantic Technologies, a British startup specializing in advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed by Samsung.

Oxford Semantic Technologies specializes in knowledge graph technology, which stores information as an interconnected network of related concepts and emulates human cognitive processes.

This technology can be leveraged to enhance the personalization of AI applications, such as on-device AI on Samsung phones, as stated by Samsung in an official statement.

Samsung, a current investor in Oxford Semantic through its venture arm, has collaborated on various projects since 2018. Oxford Science Enterprises is also an investor in the company.
